Questionaire

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? I'm just beginning so I really don't know what I like the best. I've had a stash for years that I am finally using up on simple things. I like sparkly (like the yarn for Becca's scarf) yarn, but love yarn wiht reds, blues (various shades), purples, pinks and greens in it.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? I don't really have anything fancy right now. My needles are just in with my yarn in their containers. My hooks are in a cosmetic case that I had laying around - easier to keep track of them.

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced? I was first taught by my Aunt at age 8. I relearned about 4 months ago. I'm teaching myself out of the "Stitch 'N Bitch" book. I also have the Happy Hooker one to learn crochet out of. I'd say more beginner than anything.

5. What's your favorite scent? I love Bath & Body Works products but every time I get a scent the discontinue it on me! Moon Light Path is my last one there still. Or The Body Shop's White Musk.

6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy? I love chocolate. Charleston Chews, Caramello's, Hershey's bars (plain and almonds), Chocolate yogurt covered raisins. I could go on forever. I don't like dark chocolate, but if you send me some it won't go to waste - my hubby loves it. :)

7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin? I learned how to make jewelry at a Women's retreat a few years ago. So I make earrings, bracelets, necklaces, anything I can bead on basically for gifts all the time. I scrapbook, but haven't really in a few years since the kids got into school. I don't spin but I am interested in learning. It looks like it would be a great hobby to have with knitting and crocheting. I also do cross stitch when I remember that I have many patterns around the house waiting for me. And I at one point in time decided to try quilting......more to learn how to work my sewing maching than anything. LOL! I'm an equal opportunity crafter so to speak. :)

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) Rock, pop, alternative, Christian, country - pretty much everything but rap and only some Opera. Yes my computer and car can play MP3s.

9. What's your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can't stand? My most favorite colors are blue and yellow. But I love reds, greens, purples as well. Not really any I can't stand unless it is puce. :p

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? I am married to my high school sweetheart, Mike, with 3 daughters, ages 9 (Julia), 8 (Lily) & 6.5 (Becca will be 7 in July). We have been married 9.5 years (10 in february). We have one dog, Birdy and a kitten, Jack-o-lantern (or Jack, Jack-Jack).

11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos? I love scarves they keep me nice and warm on cold days on the half mile track (my job at the school). Same for hats and mittens. the only problem with mittens is that I need to be able to use a hole puncher on the track so I have some of those mittens with the finger-tip-less gloves under the mitten flap (store bought). Ponchos are growing on me. I have one at the moment that is store bought.

12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit? Well right now I really have only ever made a baby blanket and a scarf. lol So I don;t know probably the scarf because it was quick to make. But I want to be able to make sweaters some day.

13. What are you knitting right now? A scarf. :)

14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts? Yes, I love knowing that someone made something for me. Being crafty makes you know how much time someone put into it and appreciate it more when you get something handmade.

15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? I only have aluminum straight needles - but that is because I buy things when I have some extra spending money. I have nothing against bamboo, plastic or circular needles - just haven't really bought any yet as I didn't need them. I don't have any DPNs either. 16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? Umm seeing as I don't know what this is I'd say no I do not have one. :)

17. How old is your oldest UFO? Only about a week old.

18. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas. I get to see almost all my family then and it is a big family. :)

19. Is there anything that you collect? Bookmarks - only because I read a ton, yarn, stickers, I'm starting a NKOTB collection of Donnie pins again....or at least trying to. He was my fave way back in elementary school. LOL :D. I like sunflowers......well that might be an understatement there. I am not into the fake flowers so much as the different household items (towels, placemats, potholder, etc.). I have some sunflower fabric as well for quilting. And lastly Piglet - yes from Winnie The Pooh. I have a ton of stuffed animals of him and I just love him. When I get repeats I share them with the girls. :)

20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have? I have a few on my Amazon.com wish list that I'd like to get. No subscriptions right now - only because I don't think about getting them not because I don't want them.

21. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? A ton which is why I am trying to teach myself slowly the simple things.

22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements? I'd love to learn how. Not a clue but I'm willing to figure it out. All I know is I have big feet (11 or 12 in women's but I'm losing weight so that could change).
